Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to shop with us, however they use the web. Here we tell you honestly how far we have come, how we have measured and what does not work yet.

Accessibility of the website

linneelektronik.com meets WCAG 2.1 level AA as far as we have measured. That is the level required by the standard EN 301 549, which the European Accessibility Act refers to.

What we have measured and how

The assessment was made on 27 August 2026 by ourselves. It is therefore a self-assessment, not an independent audit.

  • Automated testing with axe-core in a real browser against the production website, at desktop width (1280 px) and mobile width (Pixel 7).
  • The pages tested cover the whole purchase journey: home page, category page, product page, basket and checkout.
  • Manual checks of keyboard use, focus visibility, 200 % text zoom and that the page works down to a width of 320 pixels.
  • The check now runs automatically with every change, so that regressions are caught immediately.

What we have fixed

  • The address fields at checkout had no name for screen readers — only placeholder text, which also disappeared as soon as you started typing.
  • The page had no way to skip past the menu. Now the first keyboard target is "Skip to content", and the page has a real main content area to jump to.
  • A large share of texts had too weak a colour contrast, including brand details, stock status, review stars and prices.
  • Links in body text are now underlined, so they are not distinguished by colour alone.
  • The product images in the basket were unnamed links that were read out as empty. They have now been removed from the screen reader and keyboard path, as the product name next to them leads to the same place.
  • When a product is added to the basket, this is now announced to screen readers. Previously it was not.
  • Decorative icons are hidden from screen readers instead of being read out as noise.

What is not good enough yet

We would rather tell you this than pretend everything is finished:

  • We have not tested the website through the whole purchase journey with a real screen reader (VoiceOver or NVDA). Automated tools do not find everything, and this test is next in line.
  • The assessment covers the purchase journey. Less used pages — My account, the customer service flows and older terms texts — have not been reviewed as thoroughly.
  • We have not made a systematic check of motion and animation against the reduced-motion setting.
  • Some content, such as product descriptions and review quotes, comes from manufacturers and third parties. We fix these as we find them.
