Sony Alpha 7R VI (α7R VI) Systemkamera Body – Black

Sony Alpha 7R VI — resolution without sacrificing speed

The Alpha 7R VI is built around a fully stacked 66.8-megapixel full-frame Exmor RS sensor, paired with the newly developed BIONZ XR2 image engine with built-in AI. This combination achieves what previously required two different camera bodies: it delivers medium-format-class detail and shoots 30 frames per second with continuous autofocus and exposure tracking.

What the resolution actually gives you

9984 × 6656 pixels in 14-bit RAW means you can crop aggressively and still have a file suitable for large-format printing. Pixel Shift Multi Shooting combines 4 or 16 exposures for stationary subjects. The downside is worth mentioning: the files are large and demand plenty of storage, processing power and capable lenses.

Autofocus that recognises what it's looking at

759 phase-detection points cover the image field, and subject recognition distinguishes between humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and aircraft. Pose estimation tracks a person even when their face is turned away. Focus works down to EV –6, and down to EV –11 with light monitor enabled — darker than most situations you'll encounter.

Stabilisation and video

The 5-axis sensor stabilisation is rated at 8.5 stops in the centre and 7.0 stops in the periphery according to CIPA 2024 with FE 50 mm F1.2 GM. Video records up to 8K 30p, or 4K up to 120p with Active Mode stabilisation. S-Log3 is available for grading in post-production, and Dynamic Active Mode for handheld moving shots.

The body

Magnesium chassis, dust and moisture-resistant sealing, two CFexpress Type A slots that also accept SD UHS-II, two USB-C ports and a 4-axis screen that tilts both vertically and horizontally. The viewfinder is a Quad-XGA OLED at 9.44 million dots with 0.90× magnification and 120 fps refresh rate.

Note that CFexpress Type B and CFexpress 4 are not supported — a CFexpress 4 card will be read as a CFexpress 2 card.
