Durable everyday phone with large display

Moto G57 is built to last. It is tested to the American military standard MIL-STD-810H and is IP64-rated – dust-tight and protected against water splashes. In the EU's drop test for energy labelling, it passed 270 drops without damage, giving it the highest drop class, A.

The Pantone Corsair colour is a deep, blue-green tone, and the back has a textured surface for grip. The phone is 7.99 millimetres thin and weighs 192 grams, and a protective case is included in the box.

6.72-inch display with 120 Hz

The display is a 6.72-inch LCD in Full HD+ (2 400 × 1 080 pixels) with 120 Hz refresh rate, so scrolling and animations flow smoothly. In bright light, brightness reaches up to 1 050 nits, and Water Touch allows the display to work even with wet fingers. The glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Worth noting: this is an LCD display, not OLED, so blacks won't be as deep as on an AMOLED display.

50 MP camera with Sony LYTIA 600

The main camera features a 50-megapixel sensor from Sony, LYTIA 600, with f/1.8 aperture and phase-detection autofocus. With Quad Pixel technology, four pixels combine into one for more light per pixel, and Ultra-Res mode captures the image at full resolution when you want all the details. Night mode takes over when it gets dark.

Beside it sits an ultra-wide camera at 8 MP with a 119.5-degree field of view, and on the front a selfie camera at 8 MP. The camera island has four rings but two cameras – one of the other slots holds a light sensor that also detects flicker from lights. Video is recorded at up to 2K with electronic image stabilisation.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and 5 200 mAh

The processor is Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, manufactured at 4 nm, with four cores at 2.4 GHz and four at 1.8 GHz. This is paired with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. G57 has no microSD card slot, so storage cannot be expanded with an SD card – 256 GB is what you get. The phone has 5G including bands n78 and n28, which Nordic operators use.

The 5 200 mAh battery charges at up to 30 W TurboPower. In the EU's standardised energy labelling test, one charge lasts 54 hours, and the battery endures 1 000 full charge cycles with at least 80% of capacity remaining. The energy class is B, and repairability has the highest class, A.

Stereo sound – and a headphone jack

The stereo speakers feature Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. Unlike many newer phones, the G57 retains a 3.5 mm jack, so wired headphones work without an adapter.

Smart features

The phone ships with Android 16 and Google Gemini. You unlock with the side fingerprint reader or facial recognition, and Moto Secure brings security settings together in one place. Motorola gestures are included, such as taking a screenshot with three fingers or turning on the torch with a quick hand gesture. NFC is available for contactless payment.

Good to know

No microSD card slot. You cannot insert an SD or microSD card – storage is 256 GB.
Charger not included. The phone charges at up to 30 W via USB-C. For full speed, a charger rated at least 30 W is needed.
Protective case included in the box, along with USB-C cable and SIM tool.
No optical image stabilisation. Video is stabilised electronically and recorded at up to 2K – not 4K.
8 GB RAM. Motorola states "up to 24 GB", but the extra 16 GB is virtual memory borrowed from storage (RAM Boost). The feature can be turned off.
IP64 means splash protection. The phone tolerates rain and water splashes but should not be submerged in water.
